What is the Starstruck game?

Starstruck is a Star Battle logic puzzle. You are given a square grid divided into colored regions, and your job is to light up the sky by placing stars: exactly one in every row, one in every column, and one in every colored region. The catch is that stars are solitary — no two may sit in touching cells, not even on a diagonal. There are no numbers and no words, just pure deduction from those simple rules.

Netflix publishes a daily Star Battle puzzle called Starstruck as part of its Puzzled games collection, and it quickly found an audience that wanted more than one board a day. The Starstruck Game is an independent, free tribute for exactly those players: the same satisfying place-the-stars gameplay, available whenever you want it.

How our version is different

We built this site to remove every barrier between you and the next puzzle. There is no sign-in, no paywall, and nothing to download. Here is what you get:

How to play in four steps

  1. Rule out cells. Tap a cell to mark it with a cross wherever a star cannot go. Elimination is the heart of the game.
  2. Place a star. Tap a crossed cell again to drop a star. With auto-cross on, its row, column, region, and eight neighbors are crossed off for you.
  3. Use every line. Each row, column, and region needs exactly one star, and no two stars may touch — not even diagonally.
  4. Finish the grid. Place every star legally to solve the board. Stuck? A hint reveals one correct star.

That's the whole game: simple to learn, deeply satisfying to finish. For a deeper dive and solving strategy, read the how to play guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Starstruck game?

Starstruck is a Star Battle logic puzzle played on a grid divided into colored regions. Your job is to place stars so that every row, every column, and every colored region contains exactly one star, and no two stars ever touch — not even diagonally. There are no numbers and no words; it is pure deduction, like Sudoku for people who prefer logic to arithmetic.

How do you play the Starstruck game?

Tap a cell once to mark it with a cross (a spot where a star cannot go), tap again to place a star, and tap a third time to clear it. You can also swipe across the grid to quickly mark or clear several cells at once. When you place a star, crosses are added automatically around it, along its row and column, and across the rest of its region — you can turn that off in settings. Place every star legally and the board is solved.

Is The Starstruck Game free to play?

Yes. Every puzzle here is completely free, with no app to install and no account required. Play as many puzzles as you like in your browser on phone, tablet, or desktop — and if you want to appear on the daily leaderboard, you can optionally sign in.

How is this different from Netflix's Starstruck?

Netflix publishes one Starstruck puzzle each day in its Puzzled collection, in two sizes. This is an independent fan site that offers a daily Star Battle puzzle in six grid sizes, an unlimited mode with a fresh board on demand, and an archive of previous days — all without a login. We are not affiliated with Netflix.

How is Star Battle different from Sudoku?

Both are pure logic puzzles solved by deduction, but Sudoku fills a grid with the digits 1–9 while Star Battle asks you to place stars. In Star Battle every row, column, and colored region needs exactly one star, and the extra twist is that stars can never be adjacent, even diagonally. That single adjacency rule is what makes the deductions feel different from Sudoku.

Does my progress save?

Yes. Your progress for each daily puzzle, your solving streak, and your best times are saved locally in your browser, so clearing your browser data will reset them. If you sign in, your streak and stats also sync to your account so they follow you across devices.

What grid sizes can I play?

Every day offers six sizes: 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 8x8, 9x9, and 10x10. Each N×N board is split into N regions and takes N stars. Smaller boards are a quick warm-up; larger boards pack in more regions and tighter deductions for a tougher solve.
